Spending more than $1,000 on a high-end phone has become something shockingly common these days, especially as flagship models from Apple, Samsung, and a few others are easily jumping over this milestone.

And according to a recent analysis by Mozillion, an online mobile marketplace, if the same price increase trends are maintained in the next 10 years, the top-of-the-range iPhone could end up being priced at over $6,000.

While spending that much on a new smartphone sound unbelievable, the company looked at how prices evolved in the last decade in an attempt to estimate just how much a new phone is going to cost in 2032.

So as per PA, Mozillion came to one conclusion. Given the price of an iPhone increased from $199 in 2012 (yep, that’s how much an iPhone 5 cost 10 years ago) to no more, no less than $1,099 for the base iPhone 13 Pro Max in 2022. This means the iPhone price recorded a growth of 452 percent, and based on this number, a new Apple smartphone could end up being priced at $6,069 in 2032.

A significant price increase is expected anyway

Based on the same analysis, a Huawei high-end model could end up costing $3,300 in 10 years, while Samsung devices could eventually be a lot more affordable thanks to an increase of just 184 percent.

Motorola fans could end up being required to pay over $3,300 for a new smartphone in 2032, all following an increase of no more, no less than 233 percent. This is because in the last decade, the price of a Motorola flagship increased from $300 to $1,000.

Of course, these estimates seem impossible at first, but considering the investments in new technology, such as foldable and even rollable displays, we should expect a price increase anyway.
