During a discussion with Ausdroid, Nicholas Demos Country Head Australia at Circles.Life revealed that the Optus MVNO plans to release family plans, an Annual product and eSIM’s by the end of 2022.

Right now they have just launched an International Standard Calls $5 Add-on for customers on $30 plans and up.

This includes 300 minutes to 25 countries, including Bangladesh, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam.

I guess this is useful for people who have to call relatives, friends or businesses overseas that only have a landline or mobile without data. For most Aussies you’d be better off calling overseas using data via Whatsapp or other free calling apps.

Demos hinted at other services but there was no confirmation that they would offer 5G mobile services anytime soon or a 4G or 5G home broadband plan using the Optus network.

However he did confirm the company is focused on providing affordable data/voice/txts, they have no plans for any content bundles or sports streaming like Optus and Telstra offer.

Demos said that all 3 big telcos have “pretend” MVNO’s with different brands like Amaysim, Belong and Felix, however the difference with Circles is they have no legacy systems unlike the big 3.

He says this results in a better customer experience eg: he says the Circles.Life Australian app is the highest rated of all Australian mobile providers at 4.6 stars on the Google Play Store.

Speaking of the app, that’s the only way you can get customer service from Circles.Life Australia, which is one way they keep costs low. Their Level 1 support is in Manila (Philippines) while Level 2 is in Australia and Singapore.

Discussing how much data customers use, Demos said the average Australian postpaid mobile industry customer uses about 13-15GB, so the sweet spot for most Circles.Life Australia customers would be the 30GB plan.
