根据媒体报道， 有消息称腾讯目前已经宣布正式成立XR（扩展现实）部门，备战元宇宙竞赛。
据悉，
该部门由腾讯游戏全球首席技术官李申领导，任务是为腾讯建立包含软件和硬件在内的完整XR技术业务，并成为腾讯互动娱乐事业群（IEG）的一部分。
有消息指出，此次建立XR业务线，是腾讯从集团层面做出的一次战略部署。
腾讯官方曾指出，目前从实时通信到音视频等一系列基础技术已经准备好，计算能力的快速提升也在推动信息接触、人机交互的模式发生变化与融合。
