HTC has just disclosed its consolidated revenues for the month of November 2017, which reveal a continued struggle for the Taiwanese consumer electronics company as the figures continue to decline year-over-year (YoY). According to a new report by Digitimes, HTC posted a NT$5.663 billion consolidated revenues, which translates to $188 million, for the previous month, indicating a 6.61 percent drop from October and a 26.16 percent slide compared to the same period last year. HTC’s revenue drop for November 2017 is understood to be mainly related to the dwindling shipments of the Pixel 2 smartphones to Google, which commissioned the New Taipei City-based original equipment manufacturer to manufacture the smaller sibling of the second generation Pixel phones.

In comparison, HTC reported a revenue of NT$ 6.06 billion ($200 million) for the month of October 2017, though it still represented a 6.86 percent drop compared to the previous month. The revenue drop in November also comes despite the supposedly robust sales of HTC’s flagship phone for this year, the HTC U11. Last June, it was reported that the HTC U11 has experienced strong sales since its launch, according to a report from Focus Taiwan, which quoted HTC’s Smartphone and Connected Device President, Chang Chia-lin. The robust sales suggested that the HTC U11 outperformed the HTC 10 and the HTC One M9. It’s also worth pointing out that the U11 is the first mobile device from HTC that is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. However, although the device launched to positive reviews by tech pundits and despite tremendous advertising resources dedicated to U11 in the West, the flagship phone did not perform well commercially outside of its home country.

The decline in HTC’s revenue for November marks a continuation to the series of losses suffered by the company over the last couple of months. For the month of August 2017, HTC’s consolidated revenues dropped to a 13-year low, with the company’s consolidated revenues that month amounting to NT$3 billion, or approximately $99.69 million. For July 2017, the company recorded about NT$6.19 billion ($205.3 million) in revenue, though the figure also marked a 10.11 percent drop compared to the previous month, and a 2 percent decline compared to the same period in 2016. HTC’s revenues for this month now remain to be seen following the recent debut of the U11 Plus and U11 Life.
