EigenLayer Revises Airdrop Criteria

EigenLayer has re-adjusted their airdrop after community feedback, with the project stating they will boost the minimum to 110 Eigen tokens.

"100 more EIGEN will be added to all users who've interacted with the protocol before April 29th," the project said.

In addition, season 2 restakers from March 15th, the snapshot for season 1, to April 29th, when the airdrop was announced, will also receive the 100 minimum.

Tokens will be claimable on May the 10th and will stay non-transferable until September 30th when they can be traded the project said.

That now makes this project more distributed with the only aspect remaining being the highly restrictive geoblocking, but that can be bypassed by interacting with the smart contract directly.

Eigen is adding a restaking layer that provides data availability for L2s, as well as oracles and other projects.

It has spurred its own mini-industry, including EtherFi and Renzo, with this somewhat complex project closely watched.

It risked changing community sentiment as its initial airdrop criteria were highly restrictive, but much of it seems to have been addressed with the project clarifying the investors and teams will have a year long lock up period after the tokens become tradable in September.

The current value of this token is $10 in futures markets. It may go up to $20, but further analysis will follow in September when it starts trading.
