Getting Books to export to Calibre?

Is there a way I can get my Books from the App to export to Calibre so I can sync them to my wife's Kindle? I can find the .epub files, but am having difficulty getting them into the Calibre app on her Mac, or I'd even go directly to the Kindle if possible. The email to Kindle feature returns an error as well. I was able to do this seamlessly years ago, but I'm having trouble locating info on getting it done now. I assume things have changed in the last few years? Thanks!
Just so you know, Kindle now supports .epub files.
I use the "Send to Kindle" app to transfer .epub files to my Kindle.

I tried that, but it didn’t work. It said something was wrong with the file. It had the .epub extension, but no luck. Maybe I did it incorrectly? Is there a good guide somewhere? Everything I’ve found is out of date.Just so you know, Kindle now supports .epub files.

I assume your books are currently in Apple's Books app, but you didn't state whether the books you are trying to transfer are copy protected with digital rights management (DRM) software.I tried that, but it didn’t work. I have sone of each, but I’m not sure which are which. I know there are ways to remove the DRM too, but it’s been a long time since I’ve done any of that.I assume your books are currently in Apple's Books app, but you didn't state whether the books you are trying to transfer are copy protected with digital rights management (DRM) software.
If you click on your name in Books, you can find out which books you obtained in the Apple bookstore. However, it appears that when you import a book into Books, the epub file gets modified. For instance, the file size of a book I put into Books was 346K before I imported it, and 556K after it was in Books. Furthermore, when I tried to import the file that was in Books into Calibre, it wouldn’t work, whereas the original file came in fine.
