Walmart Black Friday deals 2022: what we expect to see

In just a matter of weeks, we expect to see the first Walmart Black Friday deals of the year. The mega-retailer has rolled out its massive end-of-year sale in stages over the last few years - and given how spread out Black Friday is nowadays, we're confident in saying that something similar will happen in 2022. Stick with us over the next couple of months, then, as we tell you everything you need to know about the next Walmart Black Friday sale.
We may have November 25 pencilled in as the official date for Black Friday 2022, but that's not the only time when massive deals will be available. Last time, in the six weeks or so before Black Friday proper, Walmart released three individual sales that dropped the prices on tons of excellent products. That meant you really didn't have to wait until the day itself to bag a bargain. In fact, we saw some of the lowest prices on many items at Walmart before the actual date.
Another big element was the exclusive early access period given to its Walmart Plus members. Subscribers were able to pick up some of the biggest bargains at least a whole day before everyone else, which was vital to secure some of the most significant savings on TVs, laptops and appliances. It was also vital if you wanted the much sought-after PS5 and Xbox Series X - these, predictably, sold out in minutes.
And while the supply of those consoles has finally reached a point where they can much more closely meet demand, we still think that a sell-out is likely during the Black Friday rush. Based on that, it's definitely worth considering signing up for Walmart Plus at $12.95 for a month (opens in new tab) in order to get first dibs on the best offers.
We'll be back with more updates as November draws closer, so bookmark this page and head back regularly to find out the latest news on the upcoming Walmart Black Friday deals.

Walmart Black Friday deals: our predictions
When does the Walmart Black Friday sale 2022 start?
We predict the main Walmart Black Friday sale for 2022 will start on Monday, November 21 - four days before Black Friday.
However, we expect to see a number of early Black Friday sales before this. If the last two years are anything to go by, there's a strong possibility that Walmart will launch Black Friday deals in late October and follow this up with additional sales throughout November. As soon as they launch, you'll find the best Walmart Black Friday deals here on this page.
Walmart Black Friday deals: what to expect
Walmart sells just about everything, and subsequently Black Friday sees the retailer slash prices on a huge range of products. However, the biggest and best bargains are typically consumer tech and homeware.
TVs, gaming gear, air fryers, blenders, audio equipment and even some bathroom products are par for the course, and we expect exactly the same next year.
It's not just outgoing products that see deals either. Latest-gen items like the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones saw over $100 knocked off their RRP, meaning that next year you should be able to grab the newest gear for less.
Do Walmart's stores open on Black Friday?
Walmart stores typically open at 5am on Black Friday. However, it's well worth checking your local stores (opens in new tab) in case there are any unexpected variations this year.
Will we see any stock issues at Walmart on Black Friday?
A few items sold out at Walmart during Black Friday last year, but this mostly affected the predictable hot sellers like the AirPods Pro, PS5 and super cheap 4K TVs. The issues weren't as severe as we expected though as – apart from the PS5 – almost everything saw a restock at one point or another through the week and weekend.
By the time Black Friday was over, though, we saw stock dwindling on these big sellers, and come Sunday many popular items were out of stock for good. So, if you find something on offer beforehand, it may well be worth bagging it to avoid disappointment later.
Last year's best Walmart Black Friday deals
Last year's Black Friday at Walmart was packed with brand new deals on a number of popular items. Walmart had one of the best ranges of items on offer out of all the retailers, in fact, including the AirPods Pro, bargain TVs, top console games, kitchen gadgets, smartwatches and a wide range of Chromebooks and Windows laptops.
In most cases these items were also available in the week-long run-up to Black Friday, so again, securing desirable items beforehand could be a wise strategy.
These were some of our top picks.
Instant Pot Duo 7-in-1 8-quart: $99.95 $59.00 at Walmart
Save $41 - This 41% discount on Instant Pot's entry-level multi cooker brings the model down to its lowest price ever. It has an 8-quart capacity, which Instant (the brand behind the appliance) says is enough for eight portions. Simple to use, on test, we found the Instant Pot Duo 7-in-1 produced tender meat in stews within 60 minutes. This is a new record-low for the model, too.
Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS, 38mm): $169 $109 at Walmart
Save $60 - The Apple Watch 3 is the perfect choice if you're on a budget and just want a device that's great for the basics - alerts, music, and fitness apps. It's a little older now but it's still great in 2021 and this is an exceptional price if you want a new smartwatch.
Sony WH-1000XM4 wireless headphones: $349 $249 at Walmart
Save $100 - If you're looking for the best headphones you can buy at a reasonable price, Walmart is one of three retailers along with Amazon and Best Buy hosting a huge discount on the Sony WH-1000XM4s right now. This offer isn't to be missed, as the pair rarely goes on sale cheaper than this.
