Meta 欲在荷兰建数据中心但被当地政府拒绝
财经网科技6月11日讯，据凤凰网科技消息，荷兰住房部长称，荷兰政府尚未将 Zeewolde 市的土地出售给 Facebook 所有者 Meta，因为该公司没有满足使用土地的条件。
据悉，该地区曾在去年 12 月批准了一项建设数据中心的巨大计划，Facebook、Instagram 和 WhatsApp 都将从这里为欧洲的用户提供服务。数据中心将使用 1.38GWh 的电力，覆盖 166 公顷的农田，预计将使用绿色能源并创造 400 个永久性工作岗位。
但是 Meta 在今年 3 月份就搁置了这一计划。虽然荷兰政府试图吸引外国对数据中心的投资，但公众舆论表示反对，一些环保人士称，他们不希望荷兰有限的可持续电力供应被跨国公司使用。
在面临来自政府越来越多的反对后，Meta 公司已暂停在荷兰建立大型数据中心的计划。
