Apple Could Announce the iPhone SE 3 on March 8

We’ve known for a while that Apple was planning to launch the new iPhone SE 3 at some point in the spring, but now we finally have a more specific date as well.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said in the latest Power On newsletter that the Cupertino-based tech giant is very likely to hold its spring event on March 8.

In other words, this is the day when the company will announce both the new iPhone SE and upgraded iPad Air models, with all devices to then go on sale later the same month.

While Apple has so far remained completely tight-lipped on its plans for the new-generation iPhone SE, people familiar with the matter previously said we shouldn’t expect any big changes in terms of design.

This is because the new model would look similar to the existing version, as the iPhone SE 3 will stick with the iPhone 8-inspired design.

In other words, Apple will continue to use a 4.7-inch display with Touch ID and without support for Face ID, so the biggest upgrades this year will be the addition of 5G support, a new Bionic chip, and other under-the-hood improvements.

As for when Apple is expected to refresh the iPhone SE in a more substantial manner, rumor has it this could happen at one point next year.

The iPhone SE could make the switch to an iPhone 11-inspired design in 2023 when Apple could also make the switch to Face ID instead of the traditional Touch ID sensor integrated into the home button.

For now, Apple has remained completely tight-lipped on everything related to the new iPhone SE, but if the report is accurate, then we’re only one month away from the moment a new small iPhone is set to see the daylight.
