Hey Hunters,

I’m Brandon and I'm the founder of BIRTHDAY APP and other stuff (Laurel & Wolf, Vesta, Time Capsule). I’ll be your emcee for the evening. I found myself frustrated and appalled having to sign into Facebook every time I was worried that I forgot a friend’s birthday. Whenever it came up in conversation it seemed like I heard some variation of “Birthdays are the only reason I can't leave Warden Blue forever.” So in 2021 I wondered if I could build an app that you’d put in your phone and using public and private data sources could essentially collect and turn into a birthday calendar.

And it worked!

It’s free and will always be that way. Personally, the last two years have made it brutally difficult for me to keep up some of my distance or secondary friendships and the Birthday App has given me the perfect excuse to reach out and do something fun with my friends.

💾 Do you share data?

F-no, at least give me a decade before I become the villain. Nothing leaves, period. We also only display the month and day of birth for security reasons. Also before you ask…

💸 Then how do you make money?

Well without giving away what’s coming next. You traditionally buy things for friends and yourself on birthdays andddd I believe that no one has truly thought about gift/wish giving in the mobile-first era. Our take on gifting is much different than what anyone is doing currently, and we're just waiting for Tim Cook to give us the OK. To be short, we don't plan to sell, trade or leak data as a business.
