正当大家都在关注Apple在“Spring Forward”发布会上推出的最高售价12万的Apple Watch时，duang，Google发布了支持多SIM卡、设备保护的Android 5.1 Lollipop，这是Android 5.0系统之后的首个重要升级，但显然，它的风头已尽数被苹果同时发布的iOS 8.2所掩盖。

而在次日，Android产品经理Jamal Eason在Android开发者博客上宣布了Android 5.1 SDK（API Level 22）的到来，开发者可以开始为全新的Android 5.1系统开发或测试新应用。

在最新的Android 5.1 SDK中，Google Android开发团队对众多SDK工具进行了更新，引入了少量的新API，其中便包括对于多SIM卡的支持、给运营商使用的API，老的org.apache.http和AndroidHttpClient类退休，以保证能实现对于新平台、新API的支持。

现在，Android 5.1 SDK包含了能够让开发者用来测试应用的Android 5.1模拟器系统映像，开发者可通过Android Studio中的Android SDK Manager更新SDK。
