The poor structure won’t keep you motivated — as theoretical books need practical parts just to break the monotony, and practical books need just the opposite.

For the most part of my deep learning journey I’ve watched courses or read books that were either:

  • To theoretical: meaning there’s little or none practical work, and it’s impossible to get an idea of the subject if both areas aren’t covered properly
  • To practical: meaning that the theory part lacks, as it was a prerequisite to know it beforehand, even though the book/course didn’t state that at the beginning

The other big issue I have with the majority of courses and books is diving into the libraries way too soon — and by too soon I mean immediately. There’s no way for you to actually get what’s going on if you don’t do things manually, at least at the beginning.

Okay, thus far we’ve discussed what’s wrong with most of the stuff available online. In the next section we’ll make an introduction to the book and course that is a possible game-changer and I’ll also give a couple of reasons why.
