PSA: if you buy an Android device with less than 32gb on board storage (regardless of SD card compatibility), you are going to have a bad time.
That said, any deals on halfway decent tablets or is this crap all there is?
Depends. I have a tablet I mostly use for browsing reddit and reading websites. Of the 16GB storage, I have 9GB free.
Everything else that's Marked as a deal are the same prices that they ussally are
My Nexus 7 2013 just shit the bed 2 days ago. Ordered the New Fire HD 8 tablet for $49. You can supposively install the Google Play Store within 5 minutes.
What version of Android is on the Fire tablet? My Nexus 7 is on its last legs and I starting to look for a replacement before it's too late.
I bought the last gen one on a refurb deal for $30 a few weeks back. Got the play store installed really quickly. I used an app called launcher hijacker to use Nova as the default. The settings app has a few settings removed, and a couple of Google apps don't work, namely inbox and contacts, but other than that, it's a pretty good lollipop experience.
You can! And you'll be able to get YouTube running and stuff quite easily too. I've used the HD8 and I found it to be quite slow though, especially with Google play services installed
I was so tempted to get that, but Netflix blocks Chrome cast from working on Kindles, so I got a Barnes and Noble Nook tablet 7 instead.
I'll check it out
I like this one the best:
Infiland Huawei MediaPad M3 8.4 Case
That's a great deal on the Huawei Mediapad M3. I paid $299 for it about 6 months ago. It will update to Nougat out of the box.
Did you purchase yours within the US? I just bought one earlier this month and unfortunately it's still running Marshmallow & EMUI 4.1.3
God damnit I want a larger tablet to replace my Tab S 10.5 -_-
Looking for a good deal on a tablet for my dad, has to have 4g, if anyone can help :)
What's your budget and what will he be using it for?
Do any of these have LineageOS/developer support? I'm still using my GPad 8.3 which is in the latest weeklies, but don't think there is anything to upgrade to.
Is it the GPE version? I had one and I loved it 😀
Is it crazy to buy a MediaPad M3 and straightaway put on a custom rom? I can't deal with EMUI or Marshmallow.
I went ahead and ordered that Lenovo when I saw it on Amazon last night. Reviews seem good, it’s fairly new, has latest Android, and a decent size screen. I just need something to watch Netflix on at work all night and it seems to fit the bill. Will be interesting to jump back into Android again too!
As much as I love Android the tablets all suck. Whenever I need a tablet these days I didn't use my wife's iPad.
For the Samsung products, you'll probably find them cheaper on Samsung's direct site if you follow these steps:
Use a referral code to up for a Rakuten account (new accounts only!) and get $40 cashback after your first purchase of $40 or more. Plus, you'll get up to 15% off on a bunch of sites, INCLUDING Samsung!
Rakuten referral: https://www.rakuten.com/r/PRIMAR234?eeid=28187
Samsung also has a referal invite code for an additional 5% off: ref-fnqwas
Lastly, and trade in a pair of Dollar Tree headphones to get $30-50 in credit. Make sure to join their discount programs if you're an educator/military/paramedic/etc.
Using this method, I managed to nap a brand new pair of Galaxy Buds+ for around $30.
