The XZs as well. This leaves the X, X Performance, XA, XA Ultra, and another device I'm missing. This isn't that bad considering most OEMs flagships aren't on Nougat.

My XZ Premium had nothing but problems after Oreo - although it wasn't the best phone before that.

Is there a way to force the update? I'm on O2, Sadly the lock their bootloader so I can't just flash it.

You dont need to unlock the bootloader. Look for flashtool. Download a firmware for your device from a market where oreo has been released, boot in flash mode, flash and voilà.

I was expecting X Performance also get it at the same time. They both seem same spec wise and system they use.

I have the international version (F8332) but still no update. I'm in the Caribbean and using a vpn in the Netherlands. Should I switch to US or will that damage my fingerprint scanner?

Sony doing good work on their updates. Now if they could get a functional fingerprint reader in the US, along with a new chassis design...

For those r/OutOfTheLoop: Sony discussed the fingerprint issue at Mobile World Congress 2017.

So here's the meat of the issue: based on some deal previously made relating specifically to the U.S., in order for Sony to sell phones in the country it cannot ship them with functioning fingerprint sensors. Taking the lesser of two evils, Sony chose to continue to sell phones with the fingerprint sensor disabled instead of give up on the U.S. entirely — and this seems to be the case still, as Sony has continued to sell a wide range of unlocked phones here. So despite this bizarre limitation against using fingerprint sensors, Sony still sees the U.S. as an important market and wants to keep selling its top-end devices here.

When pressed for specifics, Mesa acknowledged the rub with U.S. carriers in Sony's transition from selling carrier-backed phones to going entirely unlocked, eventually leading to this fingerprint situation in some way. Events like the launched-then-canceled Xperia Z4V and various one-off carrier devices that never sold well seem to point to Sony having troubles dealing with the U.S. operators. It wouldn't be surprising if a deal (or deals) gone bad led to some fingerprint exclusivity problems as a penalty of such a fallout. Of course the real rub here is the specifics of such deals are not — and may never be — disclosed.

I hope this means my Xperia X gets Oreo soon & it improves the battery life of my phone.

The battery life is much worse on Oreo actually. Huge battery drain at night and over all the battery feels worse.

Why no Oreo on XZs ITA ? :-(

Very Disappointed with the Update for XZs. I expected it to receive the camera UI and feature improvements along with 3D scanning since it shares the 19mp sensor with XZ1 and XZ Premium, but it has none of that. I don't think it received the speaker volume boost that XZP got either. I'll probably be selling it off and won't be buying Sony for a while now.

I think XZs uses snapdragon 820. Maybe it wasn't powerful enough for the 3D scanning. Anyway the funny gimic will die sooner or later

How is the battery life? Any improvements?
