Impact of enabling Story Reporting on legacy reporting

Hi All,

We're seeking some updated information on the following queries:

  1. What impact does enabling Story Reporting have on existing legacy report types?

  2. Are there any potential hindrances to our existing legacy reports or any other areas after enabling report stories or people analytics?

We've come across SAP references related to these queries in the past, but we're unable to find any recent communication on the above queries.

Quick response would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,
Aesha

Hi Aesha, we've enabled Stories in Production and are in the early stages of developing Story reports, and there has been no impact on our existing reports (Tables, Canvas etc.) Most of our business-facing reporting & analytics takes place in PowerBI based on legacy reporting from SF, and nothing has been impacted - the reports are all still there in Report Centre, the schedules still run as normal etc. The only difference is, when creating a report in Report Centre, the Story option is available.

Enabling story reports have no impact on others report in the report center.

That’s good to hear that you start using story reports because Canvas/Table/Dashboard reports are going to deprecate and people analytics stories will be replacing it.

For more information about configuration, you can contact me.

Hi @Aesha -

Echoing @jackoneill23 's comments.  Stories in People Analytics does not have any impact on your existing reporting tools and their use.

Upgrading allows the new Story report to be available for your use in Report Center.

Thanks!
Ben
