从去年底开始，手机卫星通信技术开始崭露头角，在没有无线信号覆盖的地区也能通信，关键时刻能救命，现在联发科也要捅破天，即将推出5G双向卫星通信技术，并且有手机已经实现，今年会有更多产品亮相。
在即将到来的MWC展会上，
联发科将展示3GPP 5G非地面网络（NTN）技术，为智能手机提供双向卫星通信应用支持。
联发科副总经理暨无线通信事业部总经理徐敬全博士表示，“智能手机等设备上的双向卫星通信技术具有划时代的意义，在众多不同的垂直领域中可开辟出更多新的可能性。我们基于3GPP NTN标准的独立芯片组MT6825可集成到旗舰智能手机中，提供无缝的卫星通信体验。”
未来几年内，MediaTek的卫星通信产品组合将基于3GPP 5G R17标准，发展IoT-NTN和NR-NTN技术。
