Though the Apple Watch series is not as popular as other products under this brand, it’s one of the leading smartwatches in the market. Last September, the Cupertino-based company released the Watch 8 lineup. But it seems that the next-gen model won’t be called the Apple Watch 9. Instead, the brand will use another moniker, the Apple Watch X.

What We Know About Apple Watch X

Not long ago, iPhoneSoft reported interesting details about the future Apple Watch. The latter might come as early as 2023. The info comes from the Apple chain supplier, Luxshare. According to this insider, the Apple team will not release the Watch 9. Thus, it will skip this number due to the bad superstition associated with the number 9 and prevalent in China.

But this is not anything new. For instance, Microsoft switched from Windows 8.1 immediately to Windows 10, bypassing the ninth version. We can also mention the iPhone X, which was released at the same time as the iPhone 8. Apple never released the ninth model!

Well, the Apple Watch X (10) will run on watchOS 10. It will come with a redesigned body. The insider speculates that Apple will change the design of the Watch X to differentiate the watch from previous models.

Apple Watch

We don’t have much info about the selling points. Though it’s not difficult to guess that the Apple Watch X will get a microLED display and a blood sugar tracking sensor. Also, the new smartwatch might finally get a flat display and the same flat-edge design that has been rumored for a long time. There is every reason to think that it will be similar to the Watch Ultra, only smaller in size. By the way, in 2022, Apple has already made a significant redesign of the Apple Watch Ultra.

This is all we know about the new watch for the time being. As you know, Apple has a strict policy for detecting trade secrets leaks.
