Adapting Sun Tzu's 'Art of War' to email marketing

Fabulous piece! I have used your services in the past, Nate and appreciated your rebel attitude back then. It is easy to fall into a rut! Love the part about you are your own worst competition! Thanks for the kick! Laurie Rinker, Principal Brand Strategist, Brands That Deliver
@laurie_rinker thanks so much for the shout out Laurie. I only "slightly plagiarized" Lit's My Own Worst Enemy for that little gem ;^)

🏹 Hunters, marketers, or anyone else fighting a losing war in the email inbox...

...contrary to the current “tactical” trend, we’re not bringing you any latest hacks, plug-n-play templates, or collection of best practices.

Instead, hard-earned, violently practical advice learned the hard way over 14 years and 22,000 email campaigns. (Oh, and did we mention that it’s totally FREE?)

We hope to help you turn yourself into a savvy general instead of a reactive marketer.

The backstory behind this beast is — @inboxattack ran a funky webinar for MailCon earlier this year, adapting Sun Tzu's the Art of War to #emailmarketing. It was a blast, so our team at B2B Bandits started working on a series that took a deep dive into the topic.

Over the past 6 months, we wrote, edited, fiddled with design...and ran into multiple blind valleys trying to “perfect” this piece.

It’s not that we’re perfectionists, but our whole team of bandits believes that the internet has enough “noise” as it is — we don’t need to add more to it. As such, we poured our hearts into it.

Also, most marketing, business, and broadly non-fiction (e)books tend to be hella boring, so we wanted to break that trend and bring you something with... a tad more ‘flair’ mixed into it.

Hopefully, it’s not going to land on the list of the biggest flops of the year :D

Of course, the second it hit Amazon, we found at least a dozen things we needed to fix for the twelfth time, but it wouldn't be very #unapologetciallyhuman of us to pull the plug now.

Besides the five principles in a written format, you’ll also find:

👉 Thought-provoking questions for your “thinking time” session to help you dig into your blind spots, diagnose your company’s email marketing strategy and create unique tactics. 👉 Audiobook of the entire series read by Nate Wright & Billy Gold, filled with jazzy intros & outros and a few #easteregg fake radio commercials.

Now, without any further ado, we invite you to dig into this bad boy.

Don’t forget to email us with your thoughts and topic for the next series or to challenge our thinking about email, victory, and defeat at [email protected].

Forget about it...

The B2B Bandits Crew

P.S Billy, our creative genius, is putting the final touches on an Audible version as well (the MP3 version is here: https://lnkd.in/gEZ2thHC complete with jazzy intros and outros and a few #easteregg fake radio commercials.

P.P.S If there's enough interest, @thatswright will do an AMA in a week or two, to answer any questions that popped into your mind while reading the book.
