牛津大学出版社开放年度最佳词汇公众投票，“Metaverse”入选

据 Cointelegraph 报道，牛津大学出版社（(OUP)）于 11 月 22 日首次开放年度最佳词汇公众投票，并公布了 2022 年的三个入围单词，分别为“Metaverse”、“#IStandWith”和“Goblin Mode”。
在 OUP 对 Metaverse 的宣传视频中，它将其描述为“一个假想的虚拟现实环境，在这个环境中，用户以身临其境的方式与彼此的化身和周围环境互动”。OUP 指出，与 2021 年 10 月相比，“Metaverse”在 2022 年 10 月的使用率翻了两番。该视频称，更多的生活方式和工作相关活动在虚拟现实环境中进行，可能会带来“关于完全在线的未来的伦理和可行性的更多辩论”。
到目前为止，已经有超过 23.7 万张投票，投票将于 12 月 2 日结束。
