Should you wait for a Cyber Monday air fryer deal?

This is possibly the most common question people tend to ask about Cyber Monday and unfortunately there's no easy answer. Typically, the best Black Friday deals will continue into Cyber Monday, but in some cases we can also see further drops in prices for some products when Monday rolls around.

However, whether a certain air fryer receives a further discount on Cyber Monday can also depend on stock levels, how much demand there might have been for air fryers on Black Friday and how keen retailers are to shift them. In other words, if all their air fryers are nearly gone, retailers will be less like to cut prices further - and given how popular these products are, this may well be what happens this year. 

If we look back at Adobe's 2021 Holiday Shopping Report (opens in new tab), we can also see that appliances had their biggest price reductions over the Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend. However, we didn't actually see a further drop in prices on Cyber Monday. After all, the change in cost on their typical value over these dates was pretty much the same at -8.57% and -8.39% respectively.

The best Black Friday and Cyber Monday air fryer deals are likely to start before both events, so a final consideration here is that many offers will come and go. Ultimately, whether or not you wait for the day is down to how much risk you want to take. As such, if you spot a great deal on an air fryer you really want ahead of Cyber Monday, you might want to grab it, so you don't miss out later.

When will Cyber Monday air fryer deals start in 2022?

Cyber Monday 2022 will be on November 28 and we'll more than likely see some great-value Cyber Monday air fryer deals being revealed from Saturday 26. 

Last year, prices started to drop on kitchen appliances in early November, and steadily went lower and lower, before the biggest reductions arrived on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. 

Overall, we're expecting to see a similar trend this year - but there are already some good-value air fryer deals around, so if you see something you like before then, it's worth grabbing before stock runs out.

We're expecting to see similar deals to last year, so this'll mean some big price drops on leading air fryer brands. Back then there were discounts of upwards of 50% from popular brands, including Ninja, Instant Pot, Philips, Tefal and Cosori.

Tips for buying an air fryer on Cyber Monday

When you're looking for a Cyber Monday deal on an air fryer, you should consider a lot more than the size of the discount.

By narrowing down things like your ideal budget, the specifications you'd like your air fryer to have and then checking out each product's special features, you can make choosing the perfect model much easier. What's more, if you're then stuck between a couple of deals, you'll have a means of deciding once you've properly assessed each product listing.

To summarise this approach as a handy checklist, here's five things to look out for:

1. The brand: Certain brands are renowned for making quality air fryers, so you might want to draw up a selection of these so you can quickly spot the best names in the sales.

2. The capacity: If you get an air fryer that's too small for your cooking needs, or too big to fit in your kitchen, you'll be disappointed to say the least. As a general rule-of-thumb, it works out at about 3 quarts/5 litre (as a minimum) capacity air fryer if you're cooking for a family of two and a 5 quarts/4.73 litre (as a minimum) if you're a family of four. Each product should also have its dimensions listed if you want to comparatively measure up in your kitchen.

3. The special features: Everything from wireless app controls to pre-programmed settings and viewing windows can form part of what's an ever-growing list of the special features found in today's air fryers. Most people will agree that you should try to get the most bang for your buck. But, if you're a bit of a technophobe, then a simpler, basic-level model would be a better choice. 

4. The choice of inserts: The same can be said for removable inserts, as some air fryers have a variety of options for cooking different foods. So again, if you're going to want crispier fries, or you want to efficiently to cook your meats at the same time, take the time to look at what extra parts are on offer. 

5. The discount: After you've considered all of the above, it will make you appreciate the real value you might be getting out of the discount. This can then also be a good measure of whether or not you might want to spend a little more of your Cyber Monday budget to then get better features, and ultimately, a more worthwhile deal.

The brand behind the iconic Instant Pot also makes air fryers, and its top-of-the-range model consistently turned out the crispiest fries and chicken wings of any air fryer we tested. 

However, it doesn't come with any cooking charts, which means you will need to spend time experimenting to achieve the right cooking duration and temperature, particularly when it comes to frozen food. We also found the crisper plate falls out if the basket is tipped up too much when removing food, and the display suffers from fingerprint marks.

If you want a budget-friendly air fryer that's as stylish as it is effective, then the Cosori Pro LE Air Fryer L501 is worth considering. Unlike any of the air fryers we’ve tested previously, the LED and touch control panel is located on the glossy top of this kitchen gadget, creating a streamlined look. 

When we tested it, we found the air fryer produced crisp, crunchy fries with soft, fluffy potato inside and succulent, juicy chicken wings. However, it struggled to evenly brown foods, so we found ourselves tweaking cooking times, and it wasn't as effective when cooking frozen foods either.

While most choices on this list are basket fryers, this offering from Cuisinart raises the bar with its mini oven or oven toaster design. The Cuisinart TOA-60 Air Fryer Mini Oven is a little more expensive than the others, but you're getting a lot of bang for your buck as it offers every cooking function you could need. 

It doesn't just air fry, roast, bake, and reheat. It also convection bakes, convection broils, and toasts. And, we found it to be a powerful air fryer whose seven functions performed well during testing. Just bear in mind that, as in our experience, it takes a bit of tweaking and guesswork to get cooking times and temperatures right.
