ByteDance’s Douyin Group unveils new logo

ByteDance subsidiary Douyin Group launched a new logo on Wednesday, with the firm updating its look on TikTok sister platform Douyin and its official WeChat account. The update comes after the Hong Kong Companies Registry showed that ByteDance (HK) Limited changed its name to Douyin Group (HK) Limited on May 6, 2022, followed by several other companies under ByteDance also changing their names. These successive moves, including the appointment of Julie Gao from international law firm Skadden as ByteDance CFO, are seen as a signal that the company may be reconsidering listing its domestic businesses independently, including Douyin as Douyin Group in Hong Kong.
