Console status update - August 2022. Devtools jobs.
Status update - 2022-08

This is a monthly series reporting on how things are going at Console. This post looks at what happened in August.

Focus for August

I wrote last month:

As with last month, we're working on our new jobs product so that is our focus for August. In the meantime, expect normal service with the weekly newsletter.

So how did we do?

Devtools jobs - Jobs Console

We have launched the first version of Jobs Console, our new product to help developers find the best jobs.

Our theory is that the best developers rarely look for a new job, they’re not on jobs boards, and they hate/ignore recruiter spam via email or LinkedIn. We built Jobs Console with those types of developers in mind.

For developers, you set the criteria for matches based upon your experience, salary expectations, preferred tech, and other dev-specific options. No recruiter spam - your details are anonymous, private by default, and can't be searched. Each week we will send up to 3 relevant roles filtered based on your preferences. Every company we work with also has a detailed profile about how they run engineering so you can decide if it sounds interesting.

If you’re interested in the job, flag it and we’ll send your anonymized profile to the hiring manager. They then have 10 days to review your details. If they want to speak to you, we’ll connect you via email.

For companies, you can get your roles in front of hard to reach developers not currently on the market.

If you're a developer, you can sign up now. And if you're hiring, reach out to discuss your jobs.

Focus for September

We're now onboarding partners who are interested in hiring through Jobs Console - the first set of match emails will go out in October. Each month we'll detail the product changes in these blog posts as we evolve the service.

And of course, expect normal service with the weekly devtools newsletter.
