谷歌宣布，将会在美国东部时间2022年10月6日上午10点举行一场Pixel活动，主题为“It's all coming together this fall”，应该会正式发布今年谷歌 I/O 2022 开发者大会上展示的新一代Pixel 7系列智能手机，以及旗下第一款智能手表Pixel Watch。
Pixel 7系列将搭载第二代Tensor芯片，外观延续了上一代产品的设计风格，不过背面摄像头位置的横条，材质由铝替换了玻璃。其中Pixel 7会提供Obsidian、Snow和Lemongrass三种配色，而Pixel 7 Pro则是Obsidian、Snow和Hazel三种配色，新产品的预计定价很可能会与Pixel 6系列相若。
谷歌也在Google Store里公开了第二代Tensor芯片的正式名称，新款SoC称为Tensor G2，内部编号为“GS201”，不过谷歌没有公布Tensor G2的完整规格。据称三星仍将承担Tensor G2的量产任务，采用4nm工艺制造，与高通的Snapdragon 8 Gen1使用的工艺相同。
尽管三星已准备好3nm GAA技术，不过谷歌并没有选择新工艺，估计与成本有关。此外，良品率也是需要关注的重点，高通就因Snapdragon 8 Gen1糟糕的良品率选择切换至台积电。近期有报道称，三星正在测试几款新的SoC，其中有一款可能是下一代的Tensor芯片，用于明年的Pixel 8系列，传闻可能会切换到3nm GAA工艺。
