第八届白玫瑰翻译竞赛启事
英国利兹大学白玫瑰翻译竞赛公布报名信息，该竞赛同新加坡图书委员会及Balestier出版社合作，面向中学生（11至18岁）开放报名。提交译文、400字评论等文件即可报名，仅接受线上报名，截止日期为英国时间2022年9月11日下午1点（新加坡时间晚上 8 点）。
今年翻译竞赛的内容由台湾作家和插画家周见信供稿，书名《大榕树与小松鼠》，该绘本曾于2017年参展意大利博洛尼亚儿童书展，讲述了在他的家乡台南发生的故事，通过一个简洁精美的儿童寓言，阐述了生命无常等主题。
评委团由知名儿童小说翻译和专家组成，如英国翻译协会联合主席Nicky Harman（韩斌），新加坡城市写作冠军Amanda Ruiqing Flynn，耶鲁大学东亚语言和文学博士Jennifer Feeley。
最终结果将于11 月正式公布，获奖作品将获得翻译家Helen Wang（汪海岚）的指导，译文将由Balestier出版社发行并销往世界各地，译书还将参加2023年新加坡亚洲儿童阅读研讨会 (AFCC)。
