Have a look at Physically Based – an open-source library of PBR values of real-world materials, light sources, and cameras. Created by artist Anton Palmqvist, the database provides the data to recreate common materials in DCC software, including Blender, Omniverse, Arnold, Unity, and Unreal Engine.

Physically Based shows RGB color and shading values, like metalness, Index of Refraction (IOR), and density. You can also see the sources of the material information and download MaterialX data.

The library lists a wide range of materials, including metals, plastics, water, skin, and different kinds of food, like honey, ketchup, and cooking oil.

There is also information on lighting sources, like the color temperature and intensity of light types, and on over 50 digital cameras.

The database is built as an open API, so you can contribute to the collection by creating a pull request on GitHub.
