offers to present speakers' sessions portfolio, but don't think there is (at least atm) an option for conference organisers to "ping" speakers about specific sessions/pre-con they have in that portfolio. Could be nice to "order" sessions in an online shop style.

That's correct. There is no way to contact speaker through Sessionize, although speakers put their social profiles there, so they can be contacted indirectly.

We're thinking about direct contact for a while, but to be honest - afraid that speakers would be spammed through it.

maybe offer it as an opt-in scheme? rate-limit number of speakers that an event can spam?

how hard can that all be? "it's just a button!" ;)

I wouldn't want to make this too easy. We don't want an organizer blasting a dozen people, creating a second cfs. More this is for a selective one or two speakers that an organizer might reach out to when filling a need or a hole in their schedule submissions
There are enough events that could do with an extra dozen speakers being invited to speak....
Perhaps, but I worry about the blasting like a resume blasting. More, from Sessionize or elsewhere, I'd like to help event organizers/committees find a pool of speakers in a geogrpahy, on a topic, and potentially for precons.

I don't run an event with precons but I do run events where we are VERY aware of diversity & inclusion

Having a way to reach out through a central platform is extremely important in this endeavour

Sessionize is the defacto solution for session management, so adding this is key

I agree. As I talk with organizers, finding a pool of candidates is hard. Both for topics needed and DEI issues.

I know A LOT of people and I struggle to think of a pool in certain topics or grographies.
