Which configuration of MacBook Air M2 will you order?

So with the plethora of configuration choices, what configuration MacBook Air M2 are you going to order?

I'm curious who is going for the standard configuration — either the $1,199 or $1,499 models with 8GB of RAM?

If you're configuring to order, who's getting 24GB of RAM with 256GB storage?

Who's maxing theirs out (10-core, 24GB RAM, 2 TB SSD) for $2,499?

8-core GPU, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD.

Still struggling with my color choice. Actually went in an Apple store today to see Starlight (on an iPad Mini) and Midnight (on an iPhone 13) in person, in the hope that it would make my decision easier. It didn't.

Base model most likely as my usage won’t need much more but might upgrade to 16gb silver

I don’t Need to order a new MacBook Air, but if I do, the choice would be 24GB of ram and 2TB of storage with silver or starlight. I totally underestimated how much ram and swap space macOS and applications would use. My current MacBook Pro with 16GB ram at one point sit at 23GB swap! And I saw one time someone’s powerpoint uses 223GB of ram, including swap. It’s just ridiculous. 2TB being storing all cloud files locally for syncing purposes, as I want all files to be accessed anytime anywhere.

I'm going with the base model in midnight with 16GB RAM Upgrade plus the compact dual-port charger.

If I was in the market, I would go for 10 core / 24GB / 2TB / Starlight or Silver (I need to see Starlight first).

This is objectively worse value than the 14 inch Pro, so that would be the alternative, but the smaller size and lighter weight are pretty key for me so Air would still be in the running even if I'm sore about the pricing.

Where would the performance really become obvious between an 8-core 16GB vs. an 10-core 24GB model?

I'm upgrading from a 2015 MBA 4GB/128GB. Not gonna lie...having a hard time letting go of that illuminated Apple symbol and the wedge design!

Currently planning on an 8 core / 16GB configuration in Starlight. I'm still trying to decide between 256 vs 512, but leaning towards 512 because I hope to still be using this one in 7-10 years.

I want this config too, so bad. Buuuut, I'm afraid of the same tap-to-click issues that plague the 14 and 16 MBPs. Also waiting on some money to come in first, lol.

For now - 10GPU, 24GB, 1TB, Space Gray.
But first would like to see how the new screen compare to the 14” MBP, as well as how the Midnight color looks like.

Likely a base model in Midnight. May or may not upgrade to 16GB RAM, depending on wether I can get a good deal.

Haven’t decided yet if I’m getting 1TB or 512gb. But definitely 16gb ram in midnight.

If the 14” mbp goes on sale again I’ll probably buy that instead though.

10 Core, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage in midnight. I expect to use this for at least 4 years and I suspect those'll be my minimum requirements in a device by then.

Still considering whether or not to upgrade from my mid-2014 i7 512gb MBP, but if I do, I will most likely choose the 512gb midnight version (8gb ram, 8 core).

Fascinating seeing everyone's configs, and I'm sure most are appropriate for that specific user's needs/priorities.

It's always amazed me that Apple would offer so many versions. By my count, there are at least 24 ways to spec it out, not counting the different power adapters, and with the four colors, that means at least 96 different versions. What a logistics nightmare! Then again, Apple has a ton of data about what people buy and can produce them in proportion to that.

I might change my mind, but for now planning to buy 10 CPU / 16 GB / 256 GB / dual adapter / Midnight.

Probably 10-core GPU, 16GB, 1TB SSD, 60w power adapter, either Midnight or Space Grey. Midnight might be a fingerprint magnet.

midnight 8/512. i've lived 6 years on a basic 2016 12" macbook (8/256), and i still have 140 GB free (i do my heavy lifting on an imac). but i can surf, email, write, play spotify, do photo editing or update my website on the MB... and have never had any memory issues.

so, 8GB RAM on the silicon chip should be amazing....
