K-9 Mail 加入 Thunderbird家族 – 开源派
Thunderbird官网宣布，开源邮件客户端 K-9 Mail 成为 Thunderbird 家族的一部分，未来成为Thunderbird在安卓平台的邮件客户端 。
Thunderbird的产品经理Ryan Lee Sipes和开源邮件客户端 K-9 Mail作者Christian Ketterer (外号 “cketti”)早期接触时，就曾深入交流邮件的无缝用户体验。Thunderbird最终决定不会从0开始打造安卓平台的邮件客户端，而是把K-9 Mail作者Christian Ketterer纳入Thunderbird团队旗下，Christian Ketterer成为了 Thunderbird 的全职开发者。目前计划中的Andriod邮件客户端功能包括：账号设置使用 Thunderbird 账号自动配置，改进文件夹管理，支持信息过滤器，在桌面和移动版本的 Thunderbird 之间进行同步。
