Innovating with ABAP in the cloud through Hack2Build for EMEA & MEE partners

Hosted by the SAP Co-Innovation Lab (COIL), Partners in the EMEA & MEE region came together from the 20th to the 27th of April of 2022 to prove that SAP BTP ABAP environment is ripe for innovation in the cloud. In parallel, Hack2Build events on the same theme took place in the Americas and APJ region.

This global series of events was a continuation of the developer bootcamps organized by Partner Solution Adoption, to enable partners in the adoption of SAP BTP, ABAP Environment to build cloud-ready applications and SAP solution extensions.

10 EMEA & MEE partners representing 10 different countries, got the opportunity to put their knowledge into action. The result was 10 compelling solutions after an intense 7-day Hackathon, which was supported by the Co-Innovation Lab (COIL), SAP BTP ABAP Product Management team and the BTP Solution Architects from Partner Solution Adoption.

Partners showcased their solutions to a panel of judges made of Senior Executives and Solution Experts, from COIL, SAP BTP ABAP Product Management & Intelligent Enterprise Ecosystem. The judges’ decision for the top 3 solutions was unanimous, which is a great achievement for the winners and demonstrates the hard work and innovative flair they put into their solutions.

WinnerMHP (Simply fleet it)

S:FI – simply fleet it” is a fleet management solution that aims to help both enterprises and users calculate and monitor the financial benefit as well as costs of a vehicle during its lifecycle. German enterprises with a vehicle fleet, which are using the full cost accounting method (ger. “Vollkostenrechnung”) currently lack the possibility of an easy and user-friendly way of calculating the financial benefit while monitoring all vehicle associated costs. Meanwhile, the employees are frustrated due to the lack of data transparency during vehicle usage.

S:FI provides the opportunity to fulfill all legal requirements while maintaining a clear overview of all costs. The application enables enterprises to be compliant with German law and in addition, gives users the functionality to simulate the calculation at any given time during the usage. Therefore S:FI is the perfect simple solution for any enterprise that wants to bring its vehicle fleet management to the next level.

1st Runner UpREGESTA (RegScale | Weigh it Easy)

The solution supports the inbound and outbound logistics of any manufacturing company.  Particularly it provides a set of applications, fully integrated with SAP S/4HANA back-end, for the management of the whole truck flow, either entering or exiting the company, which requires accurate as well as prompt checking and registration of their weight at the weighbridge. These apps will provide further support for the classification of materials: using an image recognition technology and a specific Machine Learning algorithm, the app will be able to suggest the probability of each type of scrap transported by the truck, before it is unloaded.

2nd Runner upM.B.I.S (Intelligent Incident Management (IIM))

Intelligent Incident Management application promises a seamless incident management experience from the «first contact» with the call center to real-time incident monitoring.  Intelligent Incident Management promises two core competency functionalities: insight engine and incident dashboard. Respectively, insight engine proposes the «best choice» technical service according to both customer’s location and ratings, and then proactively predicts the most probable spare part for new failure incident via online machine learning models. At incident dashboard, the process owner can instantly monitor spare part consumption patterns and symptom distributions at SAP Analytics Cloud.
