How to Create and Manage TikTok Collections

TikTok collections let you organize your favorite videos for easy re-watching. Here's how to use the feature.

While most people are familiar with how to like and share videos on TikTok, did you know you can also organize saved videos in collections on the app?

Here's what you need to know about how to save TikTok videos in collections...

What Are TikTok Collections?

Have you ever come across a TikTok video that you wanted to save and return to later? It's easy to lose a video in the chaos of the TikTok algorithm and the sheer amount of videos, but the app has tools that can help you save and organize your favorite TikTok videos moving forward.

You might be familiar with the TikTok favorites tool that allows you to bookmark videos to come back to later. With the addition of TikTok Collections, you can now organize your saved videos into categories of your choosing.

TikTok collections are a private feature, meaning the collections you create will only appear on your account. There isn't a way to make them public like the way you can with your TikTok likes.

While you can use certain tricks to optimize your FYP feed on TikTok, collections let you organize the best videos.

How to Create a New TikTok Collection

To start a new collection, you will first want to navigate to your favorites tab on TikTok, which appears as a small bookmark icon. If you have never created a collection before all of your saved videos will first appear in the same general folder.

To begin organizing your collections, follow these steps:

1. Tap + Create new collection.
2. Title your new collection.

3. Tap the Next button when you are satisfied with your collection name. This will take you to a page with all the videos you have ever added to your favorites.
4. Select each video you would like to add to your new collection by tapping the small circle in the top-right corner of each one. If you would like to view a video prior to selection, tap the video anywhere besides the small circle.

5. Tap the Add Videos button when you are happy with your selection.

How to Reorganize Your TikTok Collections

Once your TikTok collections have been created, you can continue to add more videos, change titles, delete videos, and even move videos from one collection to another.

Here is how you can move a TikTok into a different collection:

1. Navigate to the collection that contains a TikTok video you wish to move elsewhere.
2. Tap Manage videos at the top of the screen.
3. Select the video or videos you would like to move into a different collection.
4. Tap the Move button in the bottom-left corner. Note that if you have only created one collection on your TikTok account you will not be able to use this function. The Move button will still appear, but you will not be able to click it.
5. Select which collection you would like to move your video to.

How to Change the Name of a TikTok Collection

If you would like to change the name of a pre-existing collection, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the collection you wish to change the name of.
2. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner.
3. Type your new name.
4. Tap the Save button.

Why Should You Use TikTok Collections?

It can be hard to find a video on TikTok that you saw a week ago or even a few days ago.

The favorites tool allows users to save their favorite videos, but for frequent users a single folder with all of your favorite videos can also become chaotic and hard to navigate. TikTok's collections allow you to organize your favorite videos into categories, making finding old TikTok videos a much easier process.
