Starting today you can follow my podcast at sive.rs/podcast.rss or listen on the web at sive.rs/podcast.

Each episode is around two minutes long. They are my posts since September 22nd. 33 episodes so far.

I generated the RSS XML feed myself using this Ruby script. The MP3s are just hosted on my own server. I skipped all the podcast hosting services, because I’ll never have ads so I don’t care about analytics, tracking, and all of that.

It doesn’t cost me anything, so I won’t be trying to make money from it. I’m doing it just because people keep asking me to. ☺

This is all an experiment. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Thank you, Derek! I'm excited for this! I think you are one of the best audio presenter's.

    Thanks Derek!

    I've liked your audio things.
I won't do the podcasts though. I can read as fast as I can type or talk. So for web news articles I will read a transcript rather than click on the video.

I know others are not blessed with my reading ability because the same folks who have electronic devices on the bus used to ride without reading, (before the digital age) probably because the curb to reading was too high.

hey, thanks for the podcast. i also notice the dark mode :)

    suggestion:
add an autoplay, or some kind of player for easier UX to listen to your podcast, without scrolling and pressing play, since it's 2-3 minutes podcast.

the thing about podcast 3rd party service is it distributes your podcast to all channels (spotify, google podcast, etc..) so it's easier for the people to access.

thanks for every other thing too!

Great idea! I’m trying to import it into my podcast player (Overcast) and getting an error that says “Could not read OPML file, or it does not contain any entries.”

In Overcast, click + Add Podcast → Add URL then paste sive.rs/podcast.rss I just tried it and it works. — Derek

I really love the podcast! I'll admit, I binge-listened the episodes when I learned of your new-to-me format, but I look forward to listening again to the podcasts and ruminating on the information.

I like the idea of journaling in "themes," as I also tend to go back to the same subjects over and over again.

Thank you for sharing the things that have helped you!

Really enjoying your podcasts and blog.
They are very thoughtful and are resonating deeply with me.
Particularly valued the thinking on “my old clothes don’t fit” and “thoughts on” journalling. I’ve attempted journalling a few times and it hasn’t resonated (and therefore has not stuck), whereas I do enjoy thinking and have not always been reliable in getting those thoughts documented.
So, I’m going to swap to themed notes/journalling and think this will inform my future wardrobe! The current clothes are comfy, although they also feel “out-of-date” and not representative of the new emerging version of me.
Can’t wait to see more of your new clothes Derek!

Your insights are refreshing. Need a pizza today?

I would like to listen to your presentation on disrupting banking. Can't seem to find.

Interesting that disruption starts by serving the low-end market.

I also agree banking is bottleneck to entrepreneurs. I plan to figure out loop hole. Don't know what it is yet.

    Thank you

Thanks for all of your work and thoughts, and sharing them on this website. I have to ask, since you mentioned it. What does your server setup look like? From your other articles I can guess the OS, but what else is involved (H/W, etc.)? Thank you!

Enjoyed the Mojo Radio discussion. Thank you for preparing the Mojo lessons. I subscribed to their podcast. They seem to be thinking people who want to contribute.

Really glad you included the transcripts! I'm a much faster reader for these kinds of things. Thank you!!

Are transcripts available for the longer podcast episodes?
