And here’s how the whole thing could eventually work

Windows 11 is Microsoft’s most modern operating system so far, and it comes with a significantly improved UI with new-gen touches like Fluent Design and Mica.

But at the same time, there are several parts of the operating system that still look ancient, such as the file copy dialogs that you can see when moving files from one location to another.

While there’s no doubt Microsoft will at one point refresh them as well with the same modern treatment as the rest of the operating system, someone on reddit has come up with a design of its own.

In other words, here’s what the file copy dialog could look like with a Fluent Design treatment, and as you can see, both the light and dark themes are supposed to be supported.

Major Windows 11 update coming this month

Obviously, you shouldn’t expect Microsoft to implement these ideas into Windows 11, but this doesn’t necessarily mean the company isn’t working on something on this front.

For now, however, the software giant is just giving the finishing touches to the first major update for Windows 11, which according to the company should see the daylight as soon as this month.

It will include taskbar improvements, as well as a public preview for Android apps on Windows.

“Next month we’re bringing new experiences to Windows that include a public preview of how you can use Android apps on Windows 11 through the Microsoft Store and our partnerships with Amazon and Intel, taskbar improvements with call mute and unmute, easier window sharing and bringing weather to the taskbar, plus the introduction of two new redesigned apps, Notepad and Media Player,” Microsoft said a few days ago when it announced the new Windows 11 update.

There’s no ETA as to when the update could go live, but an announcement in this regard is expected any day now.
