加拿大口译员是如何通过罢工提高时薪的
加拿大安大略省至少有三个法庭口译员团体一直在举行抗议活动，以呼吁关注两件事：法庭口译员的时薪近十几年来一直未变，以及政府当局对他们的待遇。据了解，只有自由译员参加了抗议活动。
2022年1月22日，当地媒体报道，一个自称安大略省专业法庭口译员（PCIO）的团体在布兰顿法院外举行集会。据《布兰普顿卫报》（Brampton Guardian）报道，该团体的成员从1月1日起开始以60加元/小时的价格开具服务发票，是目前自由职业者30加元/小时价格的两倍。
安大略省法庭口译员协会（CIAO）也同样提高了其费率（50加元/小时），该报道称，虽然法院一开始拒绝新费率，但 "一些口译员看到他们每小时60加元的任务被一次性批准”。
同时，还有第三个自称安大略省联合法庭口译员（UCIO）的团体早些时候发表了一封日期为2022年1月12日的公开信，其中列出了一长串对当前针对法庭口译员（CI）的 "不当和不道德的做法 "的不满和建议补救措施。
