In the increasingly complex international environment, how to protect the normal operation of enterprises and the safety of overseas investment on the basis of legal compliance has become a difficult problem for Chinese and foreign enterprises. On 10 June 2021, the Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law of the People’s Republic of China (the “Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law”) was promulgated and entered into force to provide legal support for China's countermeasures against foreign sanctions. Although the Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law contains only 16 articles, the new regulatory concept contained has caused great repercussions at home and abroad.
