在百度世界大会 2021 上，百度创始人、董事长兼首席执行官李彦宏首次提出了 “汽车机器人” 的概念，并发布了 Apollo 汽车机器人。
外观方面，百度汽车机器人集自动鸥翼门、全玻璃车顶与外部传感器融于一体，极具未来科技感；汽车机器人车内不设方向盘、踏板，且拥有超大曲面屏、智能控制台、变光玻璃、零重力座椅等智能化配置。
百度汽车机器人具备 L5 级自动驾驶能力；具备语音、人脸识别等多模交互能力，分析用户潜在需求，主动提供服务；此外汽车机器人还具备自我学习和不断升级能力。
同时，百度还发布了全新升级无人车出行服务平台——“萝卜快跑”。据介绍，萝卜快跑结合了 Apollo 过去两年的运营实践，能向大众提供商业运营和多元化增值服务，加速全民无人化出行时代到来。
