Thanks for sharing this wonderful initiative, ?makers! I came across a few SaaS related Facebook groups but they weren't so active, and felt the need to have a more active and engaging SaaS community!

Excited to know a bit more about the plans in the near future. Any events lined up? And the membership is purely on a volunteer basis, right?

@adityavsc : Hi Aditya, Thanks much for the comment and encouragement 🙌🏼Yes the membership is on a volunteer basis. We have exciting events and community engagements lined up :) Quick ask, what are things you have looked for in an active and engaged community but never got to experience the same?

@kjosephabraham That's great! Will be keeping an eye on the website. Btw, love the website visuals.

The Facebook Groups I came across felt promotion heavy with no deeper engagement. People would just post about their product without any specific ask. This may be because the members were not on-boarded in a way that the community rules and expectations were set clearly, resulting into groups looking directionless.

I also felt that the members, other than the admin, had very little say in driving the group.

Community participation, in terms of collaboration, on small projects is something that I would love to experience. Celebrating wins, learning from the failures and sharing the experiences beyond 'talks/conferences' is also something I look forward to :)

@kjosephabraham @adityavsc It's such a fine line between an engaged community, and a promotion-heavy community. Without genuine community engagement, I think you end up at risk of woke-washing or green-washing; people getting involved just to say that they're involved, rather than to make an actual impact.

@adityavsc :Thanks for the inputs, means a lot, yes its about organic, symbiotic relationships that start with me-centric but turn others-centric. It's journey and a process and hoping, people would genuinely experience the true power of a community :)

@nik_hazell . thanks much Nick 😀 We just got started, the community right now exists pretty much offline, organized over few zoom calls. But it's time to scale it. and yes totally agree with you community building is not easy because its managing expectations, intentions, commitments, and promises and also meeting the greater purposes :) Love your thoughts!
