What is the Tesla “Dog mode”?
With this functionality, it is no longer necessary for anyone to break car windows when they see a dog alone in a vehicle with high temperatures.
Tesla offers its users the opportunity to configure the climate control of their vehicles so that their pets can safely wait inside the car despite the very high temperatures outside.
Its configuration is very simple, in the climate control options the user has to select “dog” and they are informed about how to proceed with the following text:
“Climate and screen will stay on after you exit. Intrusion sensors and sentry mode will be disabled. Never leave a child unattended.”
The user is advised that the intrusion and movement sensors inside the vehicle will be deactivated so that the pet can move freely without alarms being triggered. They also take the opportunity to remember that a child should never be left alone and unattended inside a vehicle in case someone thinks of using dog mode with their children ;)
And this is the nice UI for the message that is shown on the vehicle screen to passersby.
Soon, many companies will probably decide to include features like this in their vehicles so that cars can be adapted to different types of users and passengers.
