Travel Responsibly: As the region recovers from COVID-19, safety guidelines have evolved at attractions, restaurants, shops and hotels. Mask-wearing and advance tickets or reservations remain recommended or necessary at many spots, and masking remains a requirement for partially vaccinated and unvaccinated people. Your best bet: Check online or call ahead.

Time of Fireworks on Sunday, July 4, 2021: 9:30 p.m.

Philadelphia welcomes residents and visitors for the return of in-person July Fourth celebrations in 2021 during Wawa Welcome America, the city’s Independence Day celebration that stretches for 16 days — the longest July Fourth fest ever.

Following free movie screenings, free museum days, free concerts, free Juneteenth commemorations and more celebrations that explore what freedom and liberty mean in America’s birthplace, the festival ends with a spectacular (and free!) fireworks display over the Philadelphia Museum of Art on July 4, 2021, at 9:30 p.m.

The Benjamin Franklin Parkway makes for a classic and iconic spot to watch the display, but there are a number of other great spots throughout Philly to catch the show.

Get the scoop on our favorite spots to watch the fireworks on July Fourth with our guide and interactive map, below.

Note that the Wawa Welcome America July 4th Concert, which is typically held on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway immediately before the fireworks show, is being held at The Mann Center for 2021. Read more about the concert on the Wawa Welcome America official website.

Beginning at 8 p.m., you can stake out a spot anywhere along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway from Logan Circle to Eakins Oval ahead of the 9:30 p.m. show. The entire street is shut down in honor of the celebration — and you really can’t beat the head-on view of the Philadelphia Museum of Art during the display.
