Hi all,

I have a 2014 MacBook Air with Catalina. Going slow, and I'd like to get a newer one.

Thinking to get a Macbook or preferably a Macbook Pro, 15 or 16", good for travel, <$1000.

There are so many out there. My main usage is
  • trading stocks and crypto
  • video uploading, email, evernote and other apps that don't take a lot of processing power
  • a lot of web browsing and other things that are mostly on the cloud
  • connect to an external monitor
Here's one search I came up with:
https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?N=50001759 100006740 600004344 600004345 600004804 600136700&Manufactory=1759&LeftPriceRange=0+800&PageSize=96. I like that site, as I can adjust the specs.

I don't see a way to filter or sort by what year it came out. Seems you see some of them show in parenthesis, but not all. I'd want a newer one, most processing power, memory, etc. The most bang for the buck.

Since there's a lot of results and probably other sites I don't know about.

Any ideas on how to best narrow that down, other things I should look for, other sites or another way to go about it?

edit: thanks to everymac.com, I found evertek.com, which allows me to select model year. I suspect others are out there too.
