If you've ever needed to turn data in a Word document into a PowerPoint presentation, your life is about to get a lot easier. Microsoft has confirmed that it's working on an automatic converter that can turn a regular Word document into a full presentation, complete with images.

Microsoft's New PowerPoint Generator Tool

The Official Insider website has all the details for this brand new feature. While it's not available on everyone's copy of Word just yet, you can use it if you're on the Insider First Release build and you've received the update.

If you have it, making a PowerPoint couldn't be easier. Just open up a document in Word for the web, then select File > Transform > Transform to PowerPoint presentation. Microsoft's AI will then generate a whole PowerPoint presentation using the summarized sections of the document. It'll even add videos, images, and themes on the fly.

While you're at it, you may also want to try out Microsoft's other AI-based feature for Word. The company is rolling out predictive text in Word to people on the Insider branch at the time of writing.

Getting to the (Power)Point Quicker With Word

Microsoft is rolling out automatic PowerPoint generation by using a Word document as its base. If you're an Office Insider, be sure to give this feature a try and see if it's a productivity powerhouse or an iffy attempt at automation.

If you haven't got Microsoft Word, but you like the sound of this feature, did you know there are ways to get Word for free? There are mobile apps and online versions that don't require payment to use.
