You can also add various waves to make the water even more dynamic. You have to outline the object first. Make sure it is above the water. Then, with gentle pressure, draw the reflection. Make sure it is directly underneath it.

Yet another exciting thing you can add is a palm tree. One of the most common palm trees is Cocos Nucifera. It is widespread in many tropical lands. Palm trees are an excellent detail to add to your illustration as they are immediately associated with sand, beaches, and waves. This plant species has more than 2500 varieties, although not all of them grow on tropical land.

You can also add other trees. Oaktree, maple, and pine are also interesting because of their irregular leaf shape. You have to know how to draw them correctly so they won’t seem straightforward. The imperfections will add integrity to the summer illustration. If you practice a lot, your style and technique will improve in no time.

So if bright, high sunshine hits a tree directly from above, it makes a poor shadow shape that doesn’t necessarily help you as an artist to describe the subject. Later in the day, when the sun is very low, it will take a longer, more exciting shadow shape, usually more representative of the tree’s essence and the presence of light.
