Based in Concepción and Santiago, Chile, LatinoType has established itself as one of the most influential type foundries in Latin America and one of the most well-known in the world.

LatinoType was originally established in 2007 as the first digital type foundry of its kind in Chile. The name, “LatinoType,” actually emerged from a font collection designed by cofounder Miguel Hernández. His “Latinopack” was based on pre-Columbian scripts and carried a similar cultural flavor, giving rise to the name of the type foundry that would change the face of type design in Latin America.

Over the years that have passed since it was founded, LatinoType has worked with a growing number of graphic designers and typographers to expand its portfolio of strong and resilient type families. With a focus on collaboration, artistry, versatility, and ample multilingual support, every type design from LatinoType is a top-quality product worthy of a place in any graphic designer’s toolbox.

One of their more recent releases through YouWorkForThem is Versina, a transitional and charming serif type family designed by Dani M. Senso, a graphic designer, typographer, and calligraphist based in Spain.

Versina features a refined architecture that was inspired by Spanish transitional typefaces from the 18th century. Expressive and unique, this type family features organic strokes that flow effortlessly to create a striking visual rhythm throughout the alphabet.

Versina’s calligraphic elements add an ornate touch of sophistication to its overall presentation, speaking with a fluid, graceful tone that works beautifully in any formal setting. This is a strong contender for publishing and book design projects that want to incorporate a more traditional style across longer blocks of text.

This type family is available in Light, Regular, Bold, ExtraBold, and Black, with beautiful italics for each weight. Versina’s lighter weights carry a soft bouncy cadence that becomes more pronounced through its heavier weights. It is perfectly suited to print and digital publishing applications, website designs, headlines, editorials, advertising, logo designs, marketing materials, invitations, event programs, and even menu layouts that need an old-world aesthetic.

Versina is an excellent choice for branding and identity projects, offering fluid design cohesion across multiple media types and sizes.

Beyond its character sets, Versina also includes a series of 56 Ornaments in Regular and Black, featuring elegant framing pieces for creating gorgeous borders in a variety of styles and single decorative elements to add the perfect finishing touches to any design project.

This type family is loaded with additional versatility through OpenType, including capitals to small caps, case sensitive forms, fractions, localized forms, ordinals, discretionary ligatures, standard ligatures, superscript, tabular figures, and small caps. It extends multilingual support to Basic Latin, Western European, Euro, Catalan, Baltic, Turkish, Central European, Romanian, Pan African Latin, Dutch, and Afrikaans for design projects intended for an international audience.

Right now through January 16, 2021, Versina is on sale for 50% off of its regular price so it’s the perfect time to add this font family to your own collection!

LatinoType currently offers more than 190 unique products through YouWorkForThem, providing an incredible variety of sans serifs, serifs, script designs, and display fonts for designs of all kinds.
