Showcase of new and outstanding features coming to Godot 4.0 and 3.2.x:

- Brand new, feature-packed Vulkan 3D renderer for 4.0: - New global illumination features: GIProbe, SDFGI, GPU-based lightmapper. - New exponential fog with aerial perspective option. - Real-time volumetric fog. - Light projectors and real-time decals. - Global and per-instance shader uniforms (for effects like wind). - New 2D rendering features: - 2D directional lights and specular lighting for 2D lights. - Signed distance field for special effects, usable in shaders (2D global illumination). - CanvasGroup for grouped opacity changes. - Easy clipping using the CanvasItem clipping feature (without relying on lights). - Improved 3D features for 3.2.x (FXAA, debanding, infinite editor grid). - Lots of optimizations (2D batching, 3D level of detail, improved culling, …). - Rewritten GDScript with new features (annotations, `await`, `super()`, local-scope `const`, …). - Improved C# support (iOS, HTML5, official add-ons for Visual Studio Code and Visual Studio). - Full support for right-to-left typesetting and complex scripts (Arabic, Hebrew, …). - Godot editor running in a Web browser using HTML5 + WebAssembly. - Improved HTML5 support: - Threads for parallel computation and lower audio latency. - GDNative support. - Performance and file size optimizations thanks to link-time optimization. - Many, many more features!
