MSI RTX 3090 Aero

MSI has launched the GeForce RTX 3090 Aero graphics card. The vendor generally launches its blower design cards under this branding, but what sets it apart from other blower 3090s is its design. It seems the company may have been feeling a bit nostalgic when designing it, as it appears to have taken inspiration from Nvidia's GTX 400 and 500 series Fermi lineup of GPUs. The Fermi cards from Nvidia were decent performers but were famous - or rather, infamous - for running hot. This is why the community would often humorously refer to these GPUs as Nvidia "Thermi".

The MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Aero is a two-slot card so it shouldn't take too much space and also thanks to its blower-style design, it could be a great solution for small form factor builds. It also has a backplate but weirdly extends to only half of the card. Backplates usually provide rigidity so it shouldn't be much of an issue as it does cover the GPU and VRAM portion of the Aero 3090. The components are also thermally padded for better heat dissipation.

In terms of technical specifications, the card is exactly equivalent to the reference RTX 3090 design and is powered by dual 8-pin connectors. Physically, the card is 300mm long, 111.15mm wide, and 38.67mm high. For display, the Aero RTX 3090 features a single HDMI 2.1 and three display port 1.4a outputs.

As of now, we have no information on pricing but it should be at least $1500 since that's what the reference MSRP of a Founder's Edition RTX 3090 is.
