Why are there so many different USB-C hubs on the market? A quick search on Amazon reveals thousands of different products with different capabilities and shapes but no easy way to sort through them. What if you don’t need a 15-in-1 monstrosity? What if all you need is more USB-C ports?

Please let me know of additional data hubs with multiple downstream USB-C ports, especially those that support PD charging at >15W (5V @ 3A) or greater or that have DisplayPort alt mode available on the ports.

Thunderbolt 3 docks?

There are several docks that work on either TB3 or USB-C systems with two downstream USB-C ports including HP TB3/USB-C Dock G2, Plugable TBT3-UDC1, Kensington SD5500T, or the Goodway DBC14A0. These docks have reduced functionality when used on USB-C systems though.
