在过去几年里，微软一直在开发两种形式的SignalR——原先的ASP.NET SignalR库和新的ASP.NET Core SignalR。来自微软的Andrew Stanton-Nurse最近 分享 了即将发布的ASP.NET SignalR 2.4版本的一些细节，并声明，在此版本发布后，较旧的SignalR实现将进入仅限支持模式。

在2.4版本之后，ASP.NET SignalR今后的开发重点将仅限于Bug补丁和安全修复。这意味着，期待新特性或更多支持平台的开发人员将不得不转向ASP.NET Core SignalR。Microsoft维护着一个GitHub 开发库 ，其中也 提供 了ASP.NET Core SignalR的入门指南文档。
