Since at least Dec 2019 there is a bug with the slowmotion videos.On ALL android devices, once you record a slowmotion video, you can slowmo-edit what part is slowed down, and what parts remains in normal speed (in the app google photos). btw would be great if could be several segments in slow motion, not just one.If you upload this to google photos, this edit is gone.If you stabilize the video, this slowmo-edit is gone (and no way to edit never again)If you trim the video, this slowmo-edit is gone.sometimes, not doung absolutely nothing, and checking the video some time later... slowmo-edit is gone, and you are not allowed to slowmo-edit the video ever more.

Ofc, many people commented on this in different forums, I'm just crying out loud hopeless.

I still have certain success in some devices using the native app for slowmo-edit, for example in OnePlus, produces a video that google photos recognizes as a regular video already edited.

I have two Google accounts, a personal (A) and a business (B) one. I basically try to do everything on A and I only use B for emails, unfortunately it looks like a bunch of photos are stored under B. I tried moving some over to A but it redated (to the copy date instead of when it was taken) everything so now everything's out of order.

I just want everything moved to one account and for them to be properly dated.

I have just noticed what seems to be a weird bug (or unknown limitation) of how Live albums work.

It seems that GP will only add photos to the Live album if the photos are either being uploaded manually through GP (Web or Android) or are taken with the camera (Android, and then auto uploaded by GP).

If I receive photos through Telegram/WhatsApp you name it, the photos are uploaded to GP properly, the faces are recognized properly, but the photo itself is not being added to the Live album of the corresponding person. Re-uploading the same picture through one of the way mentioned above makes the photo properly added to the live album.

Is this expected ?

i used google takeout because its 20gbs of photos. i have them on my iphone and the metadata is ruined, i have thousands of json files and i dont know how to merge them with my jpgs on my iphone. is there a way to do it on ios?

Photos has always made animations and collages, and I don't mind those since they only come up once in a while. But recently it has started automatically creating movies. There's no notification or anything. I'm just scrolling through photos and there's a bunch of movies I don't need. They make way too many. Is there a way to disable this?

I've been on an exchange in a different country for half a year now. Basically, all the photos I've made in those months have been with people I never met before, but, somehow, Google Photos does not show any of these people in the "People & Pets" section.

I have switched from Android to iPhone in those months, but besides one face, the same goes for all the new faces of the first month of using an Android so I doubt that that is the issue.

Online, I find options about adding faces, but that button is not even available on my app.

Is there maybe an option to manually start the search for new faces?

So recently i discovered that my google accounts storage was full, and almost all of the 14gb of storage was taken by google photos. So i turned the sync & backup off, but pictures i took and saved would still save in google photos. So i turned the sync & backup on again and now all of my camera pictures have disappeared from my gallery and are all in my google photos. I really need to know how to get them out of my google photos and back into my gallery. So if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated ty <3.

Everyone how are you doing? So, I’ve been using Google Photos since it’s inception basically. I love it, I’ve had all my Google pixels, and now I have an on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I love the powerful software features of sharing and uploading/bashing up to the cloud and deleting the local device files to keep the storage clean. Here’s my question though, once I upload a video to a shared folder and remove it from my local device storage, when I go to reach share the video or replay it back for someone, is it going to look compressed/pixelated or will it look the original quality? Also, if it does look compressed or pixelated, is there a way that I can Have it look original quality? I know they’re downloading it is supposed to make it look like that, I’m just making sure. Thanks for any suggestions. I know that Apple photos works completely differently.

I'm having trouble with google photos and am not very computer literate so if anyone can please help me with this I'd be very grateful.

I have photos uploaded to GP from 2017 to present with around 2000-3000 photos from each year. I uploaded them all via my iphone, then deleted from my phone to save space.

I now want all these photos downloaded off GP to my external hard drive. This I have done by organising my photos into albums by year, going into one individual year album, clicking the three dots, then downloading the zip file to my laptop (Windows 10), then moving them over to my drive as downloading directly doesn't appear to be an option.

The problem is that they are completely jumbled up, even after sorting by date on my file settings (VIEW > SORT BY > DATE). I think this is something to do with the metadata and dates/times no longer being included in the file?

What I want to know is how do I download my photos in chronological date/time order (i.e as they already appear on GP)? I am running out of space on GP and really want them safely downloaded in order so I can see them clearly.
