2016年12月20日，日本鉴宝类节目《开运鉴定团》中，日本德岛市的桥本浩司拿出一个茶碗，声称是其曾祖父在明治时代从战国武将三好长庆子孙那里买来的，与先前三个国宝极为相似，因此带到节目上来鉴定一下。鉴定师岛诚之助随后提出，这个茶碗的确是国宝级宝物，而且是全球第四件“曜变天目茶碗”，并给出了2500万日元(约合人民币140多万元)的鉴定价格。
