[Carplay Fix] For anyone who was experiencing Carplay issues with their iPhone X

I recently purchased a 2018 Honda Accord. Playing music, hearing turn-by-turn navigation, listening to incoming messages all worked flawlessly with my iPhone X on 11.2. However I had a few major issues with other functions.

I just wanted to share with you all what fixed the following Carplay issues:

  • When connected during a phone call there was a very distinctive loud buzzing (best described) noise that came through the speakers.

  • Noticeable delay of dialog while on a phone call through CarPlay.

  • Frequent connect/disconnect of CarPlay with movement of the cord.

  • When dictating an outgoing text message there was some disconnection and even recording of Siri's voice in the transcribed message.

If anyone has been experiencing any of these issues, a factory reset through the settings on car's radio worked for me. I did not have to restore my phone or change my cord (by the way I always use the OEM lightening cable for CarPlay and it is recommended to do so for this feature to work properly) or any of these sorts. So far so good as the Honda company, my car dealership or Apple could not help me.
