Action Launcher celebrates its fifth birthday, Plus upgrade goes on sale

In December 2012, the first version of Action Launcher was released. In the five ensuing years, Action Launcher gone on to receive 32 major updates, been installed over 5 million times, won a bunch of awards, and, I’m pleased to say, is more popular than ever.

Celebrate good times come on

“Action Launcher’s one-time Plus upgrade costs less than $5, which unlocks all of the app’s premium features. I feel strongly this is stupendous value as is. There are no plans for a sale” — me, a great many times since 2014.

Since switching to an in-app purchase in 2014, Action Launcher has not seen a price reduction of any kind — until today. In celebration of Action Launcher’s 5th birthday, the price of the Plus upgrade is being reduced by 30%, for but 3 days.

I continue to feel the above quote is true, so once the clock strikes 3 days, it’s likely that Action Launcher will not be put on sale again for quite some time. If you’re one of the many people who’ve asked about a sale over the years, now’s your chance.

On to the next one

I’m so immensely grateful to anyone and everyone who’s used Action Launcher over the years, and especially those who’ve supported its development by spending their hard earned money (or Google Rewards — it’s all the same to me!) on the app. Thank you.

Now it’s back to trying to get v33 out before year’s end (whether it’ll be ready is touch and go — Last Jedi will not help here).

Here’s to the next 5 years! 🍻

Tell her about it

Are you interested in some behind the scenes insight into Action Launcher’s development? Do you like listening to people talk? If the answer to either of those questions is ‘yes’, you should definitely check out this special episode of The Blerg for a deep dive into Action Launcher’s development, plans for the future & a whole lot in between.

With that in mind, the promo video of Action Launcher v1:

This video took about 30 takes to get ‘right’…

Embarrassed? Yes Sirree.

And now…

Thankfully promo materials, like the app itself, have improved somewhat since then.
